Believe That YOU CAN!
People: I need help!!! God send somebody to help me!! I need heeeeelllppp!!!
Prospective Helper: Hey! I can help you tomorrow!
People: Thank you SO MUCH!! You are a Godsend!!! I’ll be there!!
*Tomorrow... “People” are a no call no show.*
The day after tomorrow....
Prospective Helper: Hey what happened yesterday?
People: ….
2 weeks or more later...
**Start At The Top ️️and Repeat every time you get here.**
Moral of the Story:
How often have we encountered “The People” in our lives and we were the prospective helper? We had a tool and were willing to use it to help someone, but they either didn’t show or came up with every excuse in the book as to why what we were trying to give them wouldn’t work for them.
It’s frustrating, right?
Now, how many times have we been The People?
Looking for help, & seemingly everything coming our way “just won’t work,” or we try it and we “fail.”
It’s frustrating, right?
Change doesn’t occur by chance. It happens on purpose. I know from experience that it’s hard to accept help when you defeat yourself in your mind before seeing victory, or before you even start. You know what I’m talking about... The negative self talk... “I can’t do that. It won’t work for me. I’m not cut out for that. I’ll never be... That’s too hard...That’s not my thing. It’s too (insert whatever here).”
We’ve all been there. And it can most certainly be HARD to break free from that negative self talk. But if we are to ever accomplish what we truly desire, we MUST.
A mentor I had used to say all the time, “Believing that you CAN is way more profitable than Believing that you can’t.”
I’ve found that to be true.
Help comes in a variety of ways to us, when we ask for it. It’s then up to us to show up to receive it, and then USE what we receive, by Believing it CAN & WILL work for us.
Negative self talk NEVER helps. It only hurts & hinders. We’ve gotta learn to tune out the negative self talk by actually speaking something positive about ourselves when the thoughts come. The world can be hard enough on our psyche. We don’t have to join it and beat ourselves up. We must encourage ourselves and support ourselves, and—most importantly—BE KIND to ourselves in our minds and with our words.
That’s the only way to BREAK FREE from believing that we “can’t”.
So wuddya say? Let’s CHOOSE to show up, be kind to ourselves, & Believe that we CAN. Because it’s WAY more profitable than believing that we can’t!
